About Me

Hi everyone!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog :)

My name is Torie!
I like rainy days. I like to pretend I am artsy by dabbling in painting and knitting. I like words and reading. I like coffee. And collecting coffee mugs. My most favorite days are when I am with my family.

I am a wifey to my college sweetheart, Tyler. We've been married for 8 years. And we are in full-time youth ministry in the local church.

We have two beautiful boys together.
Our firstborn son is named Ben and he is three years old. He is wild and crazy and always on the move.
Our second son is named Aaron. He is resting in the arms of Jesus. He went home to be with Lord on October 26, 2012 after he was born prematurely and lived for 28 days.
I love them so.

Aaron's passing has changed our lives drastically. We are broken and raw. Yet, we are completely and fully aware that this world isn't our home and we will see our little one again.

The verses that God has laid on my heart are Isaiah 61:1-3 which say:
"....He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn
that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,
and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
    festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory."

That is story of redemption, isn't it? We are messed up folk. We are broken people. Yet, God takes all this mess in our lives and in our hearts and He not only turns it into something beautiful but also useful for displaying His splendor.
We pray that our story---our lives---will help bring others closer Jesus.

I hope that as you read our messy, broken or maybe sometimes ordinary journey, that you realize we have a living hope, that is Christ Jesus.
